Why Thundering Caribou?

Many moons ago, I began thinking about possible domain names. Several came to mind. Unfortunately, a whois search revealed that my brainstorming had been fruitless. :-(

So there I was. Dumbfounded. By chance, I stumbled across a shareware solitaire suite called Burning Monkey. Instantly, I was hooked by the monkey antics! I mailed off a check to the author and knew that I was a great person (the monkeys told me so). Then it hit me: action + animal = domain name. But what action? What animal? Pouncing Cats? Scurrying Rodents? No, they lacked that ... je ne sais quoi.

So there I was. Taste buds colliding with Caribou Coffee. My museful mind, pondering prospective possibilities. And then, EUREKA! I recalled the story about how the founders of Caribou Coffee were awed by the sight and sound of a herd of caribou, thundering across the crisp Alaska landscape ...

So there I was. In domain name nirvana! :-) And now you know the rest of the story. Enjoy your visit!
